Physical Safety

People use technology to advance human safety in architecture and transportation.
  • What are the dangers that cars pose to the environment? - How does pollution work?
  • What are the ways in which designers and engineers have developed and continue developing cars to reduce the cost on the environment?
  • What are the biggest difficulties/challenges in making green cars?
  • What is the future of the motor industry?

My topic is Green Cars. I chose my topic because I would like to learn about `a car that can slow down global warming.Q: Why do you want to learn about this subject?A: In third grade we had the invention unit. I learned about the history of cars and how they developed in time. I thought I would like to continue that learning because the technology is different. We all know about gas green cars. I know a lot about history and how it works so I thought green cars would be something I could do.Q: What is a "green car" then?A: Green means that it's not "helping" global warming so no Co2 emissions. Not only Co2 but there is also HO and other poisonous gasses that come out. Therefore there is EU5 and soon EU6. EU5 is how much a car is allowed to pollute.Q: What is pollution then?A: Polute is when a car gives out gases that can harm the earth.Q: Are you interested in pollution then?A: I suppose so. In third grade we also did the recycling unit and that also has a lot of co2 and dirt and everything.Q: Do you have any feelings about polution?A: I think everybody can help with it - you can have a gasoline car or one with 23% less emission. Mercedes take something light and fold it to make it lighter but strong.Q: Why is it important for us to think about what kind of cars we use in the future?A: Fuel is running out and you want to live green because it's fun to be outside and not only in a grey environment where there is only city.Q: What's do you understand about the problem of global warming?A: A lot of animals will die out since the ice-bergs are also endangered - there are a lot of other animals that we also destroy their environment because of polution and money - Humans don't really see the problem as so big because we're the ones who are doing it and think that it's good and cheap to use oil or go into the woods and cut down a tree. There is the new SLS I thought ESEL. I thought because it's such a sport car but uses electricity. I thought.... Q: Is this only publicity or is it really going to be a car of the future?Q: FCel runs on water. Q: Is it actually green?" A: Not yet because the water needs a lot of electricity to be made so they are finding out new ways to produce it easer and then if they would do that it would be very clean because the only emission is water.

How does a “green” car and its motor help the environment?
Green cars and their motors can help the environment.
  • First, we do not have to get the oil from the sea - green cars do not need oil.
  • Second, burning oil puts pollution in the air but with green cars we do not have to burn oil.
  • We slow down global warming because we do not pollute with our cars.
  • Using less fuel saves the environment because we need less factoryoil refinerie

What are similarities and differences of gasoline cars and green cars?

There are similarities and differences of gasoline cars and green cars.

Same
  1. The Structure of the car is the same

air conditioning and air bags etc.
  1. The batteries are the same because a gasoline car needs a battery for starting the motor or lights and other things.
  2. Both green cars and gasoline cars need to do crash tests.

1.One difference is that a electric car can only drive 240km or 149 miles
a gasoline car can drive with 100 km with only 13 Liters of gasoline and a gasoline car has mostly has 30 liters of gasoline.

2.Electric cars have four types of batteries
EV´s Today,
DC Brushless
and AC Induction
Lithium-ion
but gasoline cars have only one type of motor burning gasoline.

How has the development of the green cars changed over the last fifty six years?
The development of green cars has changed during the last sixty three years.
  • 1947 the first green car is invented from Nissan the tama . The Tama powered by a lead battery . It could drive 96.3 kilometres on one charge at a speed of 35.2 km.
  • Nissan develops the green car Esflow. On one charge it can drive 240 km.
  • Mercedes Blue Efficiency a green car that runs with normal oil but has 23% less emissions and already has the EU6.

EU6 is a very strict car emission rule that will be important for cars in 2014.
  • Types of “Green” cars humans have invented:

Hybrid is a cross between gasoline powered cars and electric powered cars.
